Monica and Stephen’s Pride and Prejudice themed wedding was what Jane Austen fan’s dreams are made of. Every aspect of their day was so intentionally designed. From the invitation suite to the black candle stick and book page filled table settings, every detail was so well done and thought out. They even snuck in a few little details to tie in other shared interests of theirs including nods to Howl’s Moving Castle and The Witcher. The second I arrived at La Bella Luna to photograph their wedding I was overwhelmed in the best way possible with all of the gorgeous details I had to work with and drool over all day.
I could talk for dayssss about how much I loved how personality packed Monica and Stephen’s wedding was. While it had the overarching theme of Pride and Prejudice, they were also sure to incorporate other details into their day that paid homage to various shared interests and nods to their relationship. Some of my favorites included exchanging Howl’s Moving Castle rings as opposed to traditional wedding rings, using a miniature sword replica from The Witcher to cut their cake, and of course Monica’s forest green dress…
Monica and Stephen’s wedding day was one of the most laid back weddings I’ve ever been a part of. From getting ready to the ceremony, everyone was in high spirits and completely stress free the whole day. Both Monica and Stephen’s answer to “how are you feeling?” was simply “ready” – I knew it was going to be a great day as soon as I heard that.
The whole day was centered around doing exactly what Monica and Stephen wanted to do, tradition and “norms” be damned. So it should be no surprise that they did a few unique and unconventional things during their ceremony. To start, Stephen was the one to escort and walk Monica down the aisle. As I mentioned above they both exchanged Howl’s Moving Castle rings to wear on their pointer fingers instead of traditional wedding bands. And lastly, they concluded the ceremony with the tying of a unity knot. Every aspect of their wedding was so unique and perfectly reflected them and their relationship.
And then of course came the reception! La Bella Luna made for the perfect setting to bring the Victorian Era inspired nuptials to life. Monica and Stephen worked with Mary Kate & Co to really make their vision for the day a reality and man did they nail it – ESPECIALLY when it comes to the reception details! Some of my favorites included framed pages from Pride and Prejudice which served as table numbers, the black candle sticks adorning every table, and of course their masterpiece of a cake that looked like a painting!
Of course is it really a Texas wedding if Whataburger isn’t involved?
