Connie and Aaron ditched the champagne toasts and sugary cocktails. They decided to to celebrate their union with sophisticated well-aged whiskey at the Ostreum in Fort Worth, Texas.
The Ostreum is Fort Worth’s hidden gem. It’s sultry and industrial charm is perfect for unique couples looking to wed in an urban and eccentric location. Additionally this location has various amenities that caters to all people and environment. This Dallas Fort Worth wedding venue is a perfect blend of modern and historical aesthetic, creating a great atmosphere for couples looking for an unconventional wedding vibe.
Connie and Aaron’s love for whiskey is a blend of their love of history and what it represents — a perfect symbol of everlasting commitment. It was also a family tradition of gathering, therefore, they had a whiskey fueled getting ready session with loved ones.
Connie and Aaron made it evident to have first look photos with the bridesmaids, groomsmen, and Connie’s father. They did a fun spin on it by Connie having a first look with the groomsmen, and Aaron having first look with the bridesmaids. This also showed how close the wedding parties and families were. I loved this approach and the photos turned out more than I could imagine!
Some of my favorite details from the day came in Connie’s accessories – Her Gatsby-inspired beaded dress was definitely a a jaw-dropper (I mean it, my jaw dropped when I saw it), but her mother’s pearl necklace, bracelet, and earrings were in my opinion the real highlight of her wedding look. Not to mention the rhinestone Birkenstocks she rocked for the reception – We can’t forget about those!
Now it would be a crime not to mention Aaron’s forest green suit and ROSE GOLD wedding band as well. We love a man with style. I know the fanfare of a wedding day is typically centered around wedding dresses but I’m always a big fan of when a groom takes charge of his look and goes for something fun and unique – the more color the better in my book.
We knew that we wanted to take advantage of The Ostreum’s bold and unique grounds. We took wedding portraits in the parlor, the main level, and we ended with some stunning golden hour photos.
My #1 piece of advice for couples getting married is always to ditch all expectations, obligations, and “norms” and plan the day YOU want to have – and its safe to say that’s exactly what Connie and Aaron did for their wedding day.
Every single aspect of their wedding was so incredibly THEM. It led to the whole day being such a fun, unique celebration of the two of them becoming one. From their first look including shots of whiskey to the 3D-printed centerpieces Aaron made in his classroom, Connie and Aaron’s wedding day was exactly that – a wedding day that could only belong to Connie and Aaron. Cheers to that!
