Ashley & Wyatt got married on a chilly October afternoon at BRIK, a stunning industrial wedding venue in Fort Worth, Texas. Their mid-century wedding theme was “Accidentally Wes Anderson” which made for such a fun and unique wedding look!
If Ashley & Wyatt had a theme song:
A Mid-Century Wedding Venue
BRIK is one of my favorite venues in the Dallas Fort Worth area. The building has so much history and stories to tell which is so cool! This venue has century-old feels and a modern-vintage design which was perfect for The Almeidas unconventional wedding vibes.
The Getting Ready + First Touch Moments
The bride and her party got ready on location at The BRIK (another reason why I freaking love this venue!) It was casual, easygoing and so personal. One of the most touching parts was when Ashley’s grandmother helped her get ready. You could feel the closeness and bond between the two and I love capturing this moment. Ashley’s dress was stunning, her dress was the ultimate mid-century wedding dress. The couple wanted a “first touch” session which was different, and I loved it! We headed down to the courtyard to capture the moment – they read their vows and there was not a single dry eye, including mines!
Wes Anderson Mid-Century Wedding Inspiration
When you think of Wes Anderson, his films are eccentric and uniquely visual. Ashley and Wyatt wanted this for their wedding inspiration and it did not disappoint. Their wedding colors were retro tones of yellow, copper, oranges, pink, and purples. These colors were displayed in the invitations, wedding centerpieces, wedding decor, and everywhere. Even the cake was EPIC — it was so untraditional, creative, and it was bold! I absolutely love colorful weddings and the wedding team did such a kick ass job bringing the couple’s vision to life!
The Ceremony
The accidental Wes Anderson theme continued into their ceremony. Ashley + Wyatt were married in front of a pink arch with white pillars that held their colorful wedding flowers. It was simple but stunning; the bridesmaids wore mixed matched dresses which is another color wedding trend I’m loving! Then it was Ashley’s turn to make her grand entrance and I knew that I had to capture Wyatt’s face. His face was in awe and the tears started flowing; it was another priceless moment to shoot. The ceremony was beautiful! Afterwards we took some wedding couple portraits, and wedding party photos. Then before we knew it was time to kickback and dance the night away!
