Cayla & Jake’s wedding at The Hickory Street Annex in Dallas was colorful and fun, from start to finish. Their wedding inspiration was upscale urban vibes, and they achieved just that!
This Dallas wedding venue is a hidden gem right next to downtown Dallas. The Hickory Street Annex is a collection of 100 year old vintage buildings – making it perfect for unconventional couples looking for a venue that brings vintage and industrial feels together. If you are looking for a little edge, this wedding venue is for you!
Cayla & Jake are a couple you want in your life. They are full of life and it resonated in their choice of colors. Cayla chose their wedding colors as red, orange, and pink. She chose them because each color represents optimism, enthusiasm, and love. These colors were absolutely stunning together!
I loved how Cayla and Jake infused traditional and colorful wedding ideas. They had traditional first look photo sessions. The bride wore a beautiful strapless mermaid gown that had buttons down the back with a bow. Did I forget to mention, she wore blue cowboy boots! She had a reveal with her bridesmaids, and her groom. The groom and groomsmen wore classic black tuxes. Cayla’s bridesmaids wore different styles and their dresses were hues of oranges and pinks.
As noted earlier, The Hickory Street Annex is a great location if you want a industrial yet modern feel. Cayla and Jake’s decor were elegant with an element of pazazz. There were candles, colorful roses, chandeliers, romantic string lights, and disco balls! If you’re dreaming of seeking an Urban Chic Wedding Inspiration, then you’ll love these photos.
After their beautiful ceremony, we wanted to utilize the ground of the Hickory Street Annex and downtown which was right next door. The buildings and mural made for great backdrops for the Cayla and Jake’s bride and groom portraits. We had so much fun capturing these photos!
Cayla and Jake made it a point to enjoy the day, and you could tell during the reception – the dance floor was poppin the whole time! The groom sang ‘Sugar We’re Goin Down’ by Fall Out Boy during the reception which was a highlight of the night for sure. They also couldn’t have their dog (Woody) there so they made a giant cardboard cutout of him which was hilarious! By the end of the night, the bride changed into a short dress, sneakers, and a cowboy hat. SO FUN! A lot of their family traveled in from other states as well so it was special having everyone in one room together because it’s rare for them!
This was such a fun day capturing The Gardella’s urban chic wedding at The Hickory Street Annex!
Kind words of the couple
I can’t say enough positive things about Madison. She did an extraordinary job on my daughter’s wedding. Throughout the process she was creative professional, fair and very nice. She went above and beyond on the engagement shoot taking amazing pictures at multiple locations. She was then there for the rehearsal dinner and the full day of the wedding. Madison was able to capture the truly special moments in an unobtrusive manner. She is truly an artist and very creative in providing unique shots along with all the standard wedding photos. I can’t recommend her highly enough and would use her again without reservation.
